Basically you need a broker. These days there are plenty of Market Makers who have all the tools you need to begin trading, it's really about finding the one that seems best to you. There are however some things to consider when making your choice such as:
- Spreads - They differ from as low as about 2 cents to about 4 cents for the major pairs and this refers to the difference between the market maker's sell price is to you and what the market price is.
- Fees - Some Market makers have monthly account maintenance fees and other charges that may not be immediately apparent when you are setting up your account, so do your research thoroughly and read the fine print before going ahead.
- Software - They all have different ways of facilitating your trades, and the options seem endless from iPhone apps to browser based charting software, but it's really about finding the one that suits the way you trade because they generally all have similar features.
